LIP BLUSH
Lip blushing enhances your natural beauty by adding a subtle, long-lasting boost of color — no more smudging or rushing to reapply lipstick after a meal. This treatment not only defines the lips but can also neutralize natural undertones to create a balanced, flattering shade of your choice.
For clients with darker or uneven undertones, achieving the desired color and vibrancy may require 3–5 sessions, depending on individual lip characteristics.
Results typically last 1.5 to 2 years before a color refresh is recommended.

Appointment prep
To ensure optimal healing and results from your lip blushing procedure, please follow the guidelines below:
• Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate your lips using a manual scrub once daily for one week leading up to your appointment to remove dry or dead skin.
• Hydrate: Keep your lips thoroughly moisturized and hydrated in the days prior to your session. Well-prepped lips improve pigment retention.
• Cold Sores: If you have a history of cold sores (even just once), you must obtain a prescription antiviral medication (such as Valtrex) and begin taking it one week prior to your appointment. Lip blushing can trigger outbreaks due to stress and trauma to the skin, which can severely affect your results if not properly managed.
• Botox or Filler: Do not receive Botox or filler in the lip area within 4 weeks prior to your appointment.
• Sun Exposure: Avoid sun tanning or direct sun exposure for at least one week before your procedure.
• Alcohol: Refrain from consuming alcohol for 24–48 hours before your appointment.
• Blood Thinners: Avoid Advil, aspirin, and other blood-thinning medications for 24–48 hours beforehand, unless otherwise directed by your physician.
• Caffeine: Skip caffeine on the day of your appointment to help minimize sensitivity.
• Eat First: Be sure to eat before your appointment to maintain stable blood sugar and ensure comfort throughout the procedure.

aftercare
It’s completely normal for your lips to appear darker and swollen during the first few days of healing — they will gradually lighten and return to normal size as they settle into the skin. Over the counter NSAIDs (such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve) paired with an ice pack and elevated resting states will help reduce swelling the days following your appointment.
• Touch-Up: A perfecting session is recommended 6–8 weeks after your initial appointment to refine color and shape.
• Sweating: Avoid heavy sweating for the first 48 hours.
• Ointment: Using a clean Q-tip, apply a light layer of the recommended ointment 3 times a day for 5–7 days. Less is more — avoid over-applying. Use just enough to keep the lips hydrated and prevent scabbing.
• Eating & Drinking: Use straws for drinking and utensils like forks and spoons for eating during the first 5 days to prevent food and beverage residue from coming into contact with the lips. After each meal, gently clean the lips using a clean paper towel dampened with filtered water. This helps maintain cleanliness and supports proper healing.
• Water Exposure: Do not submerge your lips in water for 10 days.
• Skincare Products: Avoid cleansers, creams, makeup, or any skincare products on or near the lips for 10 days. This includes retinols, Retin-A, AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids), peroxides, Proactiv, salicylic, lactic, and glycolic acids.
• Heat & Steam: Avoid saunas, steam rooms, or long, hot showers for 10 days post-treatment.
• Do Not Pick: Do not rub, pick, or scratch your lips. Let any flaking or dryness naturally exfoliate. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss.
• Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sunlight and tanning for 3–4 weeks after your appointment.
• Other Treatments: Do not schedule facials, Botox, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for at least 4 weeks after your procedure.
• Hair Removal: Avoid waxing, bleaching, tinting, or using hair removal or growth products around the treated area for 4 weeks.
• Sleeping: Try not to sleep on your face for the first 10 days to avoid disturbing the healing process.
• Healing Products: Only use the aftercare ointment provided or recommended. Do not substitute with any other healing products or DIY methods.
Keep in mind that every individual heals differently. External factors like sun exposure, skincare products, and lifestyle can all impact your final results.
Please note: there are no written or implied guarantees if aftercare is not followed properly. Additional sessions may be required and will incur an additional charge.
